Julians Treatment - A Time Before This
LP UK 1970
Youngblood SYB 2

Condition (record 1/record 2/cover): EX-/EX-/VG++

Up for sale is the ORIGINAL Youngblood UK 1st pressing from 1970 of Julians Treatment's debut album "A Time Before This" (A1/B1/A1/B1 matrix suffixes). Double album by musician/ sci-fi writer Julian Jay Savarin. Hammond dominated,  spacey,  psychedelic prog- rock with long tracks,  cool female vocals and a cosmic,  sci-fi concept vibe.

This is also the very earliest 1st pressing of this double lp - with 1/G mother and stamper codes on each side of each disc!

The fully laminated gatefold cover 'Garrod & Lofthouse' is in great condition. Only slight edge and corner wear and only a few creases. The cover is very flat looking. The cover must grade VG++. (See my pictures.)

The records are in brilliant condition, shining as if they were just pressed with just some very light sleeve-removal scuffs (not audible). I have played it and it sounds fantastic! Hardly any crackle at all, absolute amazing sound! With the original plain white 'Patents' inner sleeves, also in great condition.

KINKS Are The Village Green Preservation Society 12 Track 1968 Swedish LP PYE

The Kinks - Are The Village Green Preservation Society
LP Sweden 1968
PYE NSPL 18233

Condition (record/cover): EX/VG+

Ultra rare 12 track LP, released in Sweden only with this unique cover. An LP notoriously hard to find. This LP has a different track listing than the UK pressing, and different stereo mixes. This LP is widely considered one of the most influential and important works by The Kinks.

This 12-song version was Ray's initial intended release for the European market. It was released in Sweden in October 1968. Ray and Pye had it withdrawn before it was manufactured for UK release and the re-sequenced 15-song version was released there (22 November 1968) and in the United States (January 1969). Apart from sequencing, this early version differs by the absence of "Last of the Steam-Powered Trains", "Big Sky", "Sitting by the Riverside", "Animal Farm" and "All of My Friends Were There", and the inclusion of "Mr. Songbird" and "Days" (the latter a #12 UK hit single released in June 1968). The stereo mixes of "Do You Remember Walter" and "People Take Pictures Of Each Other" were slightly different from the mono mixes.

The record is in very nice condition and it sounds fantastic! Great dynamics and great sound throughout. Hardly any crackle at all.

A very soft and fragile cover (almost impossible to find in perfect condition). This copy is VG+.  No splits or writing. Small name sticker on rear. Please look at my photos.

Price: £210 SOLD

From the book Endless Trip:
The tale of how five GIs stationed in Germany shaved their heads, donned cowls and created punk rock in 1966 (calling it über-beat) still seems too amazing to be true – but the evidence is all here, on their astounding album, which would almost certainly not have got made in America at the time. Screamed vocals, shrieking feedback, atonal organ and ferocious drumming define their sound, as does the unorthodox use of strummed banjo for rhythm. This really is one of those records that seems to owe no debt to anything else, and is as exciting and distinctive as anything in rock and roll.

No contemporary American band had recorded an album of such personality and vision – The Velvet Underground’s debut was recorded well after Black Monk Time, for example – and even The Beatles had yet to explore such territory (John Lennon would have loved them). All the songs are self-penned, too, something that very few people could boast in 1966. One of the handful of 60s albums that all music fans should hear.
